Pony tack

Pony tack is similar in most respects to that of regular horses. However, since the animals are smaller, the equipment generally is as well. Companies that deal exclusively with pony gear are not as prevalent as those that make equine supplies.

Saddles are one of the most important pieces of pony tack. These saddles are similar in appearance to English saddles for a regular horse. In most cases, these saddles are designed to accommodate younger riders, as most ponies are ridden by children and adolescents.

As with other types of horses, pony tack for dressage is common. For dressage, a minimal amount of tack is required. The basic items are a saddle, noseband and bit.
